HISTORY

Certificate of Incorporation, JCF. January 1949

Leaders of the Greater MetroWest Jewish community founded the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) in 1949, understanding that the well-being of our community depended upon planning for and investing in our future, regardless of changing times or economic conditions.

Today JCF is the largest community foundation in NJ. We remain committed to ensuring that the communal resources of Greater MetroWest will be here for future generations.

JCF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ (Federation), and serves as its planned giving and endowment department.

The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ works to fulfill the cherished Jewish precepts of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (to repair the world) by managing the charitable funds of our donors and working with them to inspire additional philanthropic, ongoing support for community needs in Greater MetroWest NJ, Israel and around the world for today and tomorrow.

We value the opportunities afforded by this work, which allows our donors to be active participants in the ongoing process of creating a more perfect world.

While JCF offers special encouragement for planned giving and the use of endowments for Federation and its beneficiary agencies, it also welcomes the opportunity to be of service to recognized charities of every kind, religious, educational and secular in content, regional, national and international in scope.

OUR WORK INCLUDES

Endowment and Planned Gift Development
Endowment funds provide a critical base of support, serving Federation and our partner agencies as they strive to meet pressing needs locally, in Israel and around the world. In recent years, JCF has been the locus of new and innovative community development and programmatic initiatives. Our gift planning professionals assist donors and their families with all aspects of charitable gift plan design and implementation.

Participatory Philanthropy
JCF manages Donor Advised Funds and Supporting Foundations, working closely with donors and their families to help them achieve their philanthropic goals. JCF takes responsibility for all aspects of managing these funds, so our donors can focus on their charitable giving.
